More than a season. A second home.
More Than a Season. A Second Home
For 100 years, Tab Recreation has been where Indianapolis kids learn to compete, where families find their people, and where the Mid-North neighborhood comes together. Sport is how we start. Belonging is what we build.

What Belonging Looks Like Here.
At Tab, the front door is always open. Families come for a season and stay for a decade. Kids who learned to dribble in our gym grow up to coach the next group of six-year-olds. Parents who met on the sidelines end up planning each other's birthday parties.
That's the kind of place this is. Not a program you sign up for, but a community you become part of.
Rooted in Something Bigger.
Tab Recreation began in 1924 as a ministry of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, and we've never drifted from that foundation. The church saw a neighborhood full of kids who needed places to play, mentors who would invest in them, and a community that would treat them like they mattered. That mission still shapes everything we do.
We welcome families of every faith, every background, and every story. What we offer back is the same thing Tab Presbyterian offered Indianapolis a hundred years ago: a place where people are known, where children are seen, and where showing up for your neighbor is just how things are done.
Our Chaplain of Recreation, Nigel Foreman, walks alongside coaches, players, and families who want that kind of support, and stays in the background for those who don't. Either way, the welcome is the same.

More Than a League

Better Together
We don't do this work alone. Tab Recreation is part of a network of Indianapolis organizations, schools, and businesses that believe in the same thing we do: kids thrive when their whole community shows up for them.
