"Influential"
In Luke 19:1-10 there is a character by the name of Zacchaeus, one
of the most influential Jews in the Roman tax collecting business.
Jesus introduced himself to Zach and he invited the savior to
his house. The people who knew this wealthy man criticized Jesus
for being the guest at this so-called sinner's home. Zach made
a vow to Jesus that day and said I will give half of my wealth
to the poor and return any overcharged taxes. Jesus told him,
"Salvation has come to his home today."
In today's world, there is a standard by which some people measure
themselves. What excites most people is popularity, possessions
and money.
The Bible's viewpoint of influence is entirely
different from the world. Jesus lets us know that if you want
to be influential or someone great, then you must become a servant.
When we live by God's word and serve other, then we can call
ourselves influential.
